Our next SRN Discussion and Support Group meeting is on Tuesday 22nd November at 17.30-19.00.
These meetings offer a space for people with lived experience of mental distress to discuss survivor research and the issues and barriers we face in getting involved in doing mental health research for ourselves.
As well as providing some space for support needs, we’ve got two topics in this month’s meeting:
A discussion of what do we mean by “lived experience” and “experiential knowledge”, and what do they bring to mental health services and research.
Jacqui Lovell will report briefly on her recent work evaluating a peer supporters safe spaces project in Zimbabwe using a co-developed body mapping tool.
The meeting is via Zoom and you can register here.
Although our primary focus is on mental health research in England, survivor researchers from outside England or the UK are welcome to register and attend.
The dates for our December and January meetings are:
Thursday 15 December
Wednesday 18 January
